Helping freight agents compare programs apples to apples
Everyone says they have the best program, best splits, best support. But do they? You decide.
Agent Advocate was designed to level the playing field. It gives agents a simple, structured way to compare programs apples-to-apples based on what matters most to them—without the sales pitch.
Instead of calling three or four brokerages and trying to connect the dots, Agent Advocate allows you to evaluate dozens of programs side by side—faster, more efficiently, and with far greater clarity.
Real feedback from agents and brokerages using Agent Advocate
“I couldn't have uncovered all these opportunities without your help. I'm so appreciative.”
“Thank you for helping me navigate my path the last couple of months. Connecting me with this company has been a dream and I have you to thank for that.”
“You couldn't have put me with a better group of people. I am forever grateful. Other recruiters call me all the time, but they couldn't drag me away.”
“This move meant a lot, and your support, honesty, and guidance truly made the process easier and more meaningful.”
Most agents are making decisions without seeing the full picture
On the surface, many programs look similar. Competitive splits. Strong support. Promises of flexibility. But once you get inside, the differences start to show. And those differences are what determine how your business actually performs.

For Agents
No consistent way to evaluate programs
Most agents are comparing options without a standard framework.
A structured way to compare programs apples-to-apples.
Key details aren't clear upfront
Important terms like bad debt, holdbacks, and non-competes are often buried or never shared.
Everything is laid out so you can see how programs are structured.
You don't know what you don't know
The questions that matter most usually come after you've already decided.
Key factors are surfaced early, before you commit.
Too much reliance on sales pitches
Most decisions are driven by recruiter conversations and one-sided information.
See how programs truly operate, beyond the pitch.
For Brokerages
Strong program, limited visibility
You may offer a great model—but if agents don't see you, they can't choose you.
Get in front of agents actively comparing their options.
Competing on brand, not structure
Larger firms win on marketing and recruiter reach—not always program quality.
Stand out based on how your program is actually built.
More qualified conversations
Too much time is spent with agents who aren't the right fit.
Connect with agents already aligned with your model.
Misunderstood or overlooked
Without clear, consistent information, strong programs get passed over.
Present your program in a way agents can fully understand.
No true apples-to-apples comparison
Most programs are evaluated inconsistently.
Be compared on equal ground so your strengths are clear.

Steve Monson
Founder · Agent Advocate
From the agent's desk to building programs to recruiting across the industry.
And seeing the same pattern from every angle.
My perspective on the agent model wasn't formed from theory. It came from being in the middle of it. I've worked as a freight agent and built them from the ground up. Operated inside brokerages and recruited agents across a wide range of programs.
What really shaped my view was a deep market analysis I completed in which I spoke directly with over 70 agent programs. On the surface, they all looked different. Different splits, branding, support models, and selling points. But once you get underneath it, you start to realize something interesting. Most programs are fundamentally the same, just structured and presented in slightly different ways.
The differences that matter are usually buried in the details. These are the things most agents don't think to ask about and only uncover if they take the time to read the fine print. Candidly, there were several agreements I came across that I would never sign myself.
That realization is what led to the creation of Agent Advocate. I wanted to build something that sits on the agent's side of the table, with no hidden agenda and no incentive to steer someone toward a specific company. Because the truth is, there is no single “best” agent program out there. It depends on what is important to the individual agent.
Every agent is different. What works well for one may not be the right fit for someone else. Agent Advocate exists to help you navigate that process clearly and honestly, so you can decide what aligns with your business, your goals, and how you want to operate long term.
