Methodology
Effective: April 7, 2026
Agent Advocate exists to help freight agents evaluate brokerage programs with more clarity. This page explains how we gather data, how we structure comparisons, and what those comparisons mean (and don't mean).
Where Our Data Comes From
- Direct conversations with brokerage leadership, recruiters, and active agents.
- Contract and program materials shared with us or available publicly.
- Public records such as FMCSA registration and authority data.
- Agent feedback collected through surveys and one-on-one discussions.
Structured, Apples-to-Apples Comparisons
Programs are organized into a consistent structure across compensation, operations, technology, support, risk, and contract terms. The same questions are asked of every program so that differences are easier to spot and harder to obscure.
Scoring & Rankings
Where scoring is shown, programs are grouped into percentile ranges based on selected criteria. Scores are relative — they reflect how programs compare to one another within the dataset, not an absolute quality rating. Scoring weights adjust based on the priorities you select. Results are intended to provide directional insight, not recommendations.
What We Show Publicly
Only programs that meet a minimum data-completeness threshold are included in the public comparison views. Programs we are still researching are not displayed until they are sufficiently complete.
Updates & Versioning
Program details change. Agent Advocate tracks changes over time and records the source for every value (survey, contract, public record, or direct conversation). When we update a value, the prior version is retained internally for reference.
Limitations
- Information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Agents should always independently verify program details.
- Individual agreements often vary based on private negotiation. The structures we publish reflect typical or stated terms, not your specific deal.
- Agent Advocate is not a broker, employer, recruiter of record, or legal/financial advisor.
Compensation Disclosure
Agent Advocate may receive a fee from certain brokerages if an agent chooses to join their program. This does not influence how programs are presented, compared, or displayed.
